SUGGESTED DILUTIONS :

Shake well before using. Test fabric in inconspicuous place for color fastness before using.

EXTRACTION: Add 3-4 fl. oz. (90-120 mL) of NDC to 1 gallon (3.785 L) of hot water.

SHAMPOO/BONNET: Add 12 fl. oz. (355 mL) of NDC to 1 gallon. (3.785 L) of hot water.

PRE-SPRAY: Add 12 fl. oz. (355 mL) of NDC to 1 gallon (3.785 L) of hot water. Spray carpet and agitate. Rinse with cold water.

SPOTTER: Add 12 fl. oz. (355 mL) of NDC to 1 gallon (3.785 L) of hot water. Spray lightly, rub with a soft brush and wipe. NDC will remove dirt, food, soda, grease and grass stains.

How to remove Pet Urine from carpet

Pet Urine Accident

The biggest problem pet owners face today is effectively removing all the pet urine from carpeting. If you follow these three simple steps, you will be more successful when urine cleanup is needed.  We do recommend using our Bacteria/Enzyme product, Natural Touch. However, if you have another manufacturer’s bacterial product, these steps will help as well. Make sure, however, the product you use contains bacteria. Some products only contain enzymes. Enzymes only break up the urine…they do not consume the urine!

• Our first step and main objective is to physically remove as much of the urine as possible, before treating the area with any chemical type products. Our primary ingredient in this procedure is WATER!  WATER is the safest and most effective tool we will use. WATER will dilute the concentrated urine and help us carry the urine out of the carpeting.

THE SOLUTION, TO URINE POLLUTION, IS WATER DILUTION!

• The second step and a very important tool in the urine removal process is a liquid suction device, such as a portable extraction machine or a wet/dry vacuum. If you do not have a machine to mechanically help you remove the water, you can manually remove most of the water by using several highly absorbent cotton towels. This will be more time consuming and more difficult but can be effective if you have the time and patience.

• The third and final step to effectively remove any remaining urine residue is to use a quality bacterial/enzyme product, like Natural Touch® Enzyme Odor & Stain Remover.  THIS IS THE FINAL STEP…NOT THE FIRST STEP! If you attempt to use ANY Stain and Odor Removing product, before diluting the affected area with water and removing the diluted urine, you will be wasting your time and money. Let the water and extraction do most of the work! The bacteria are applied lastly to break up, eat and digest any remaining urine residue that may still be in, on or below the carpet surface. The theory behind a bacteria-based product is very technical, but really quite simple. Bacteria is a living micro-organism.  Like any living thing, they must have food in order to live. When applied to the carpeting, the bacteria will create enzymes to break down the urine into tiny pieces in order for the bacteria to digest the food. They will eat the urine to survive.  Once the food source is gone, the bacteria will die. No more urine, no more bacteria and no more odor!  NOTE: The bacteria must come in contact with the urine to be effective.

• Now that we understand the role of our three key tools (water, suction device and bacteria) we can begin removing the urine. Please do the following:

Fresh Urine

1. Remove as much of the concentrated pet urine as possible by using paper towels or a highly absorbent cotton towel.
2. Pour 4-6 ounces of fresh, warm WATER on the accident area. Extract or absorb this water from the carpeting. DO THIS STEP 2-3 MORE TIMES.  Remember, we are trying to dilute and remove as much of the urine as possible, before we start feeding our bacteria. The more urine we are able to remove through dilution and extraction, the better chance our bacteria will have in digesting the remaining urine residue.
3. Apply your bacteria product to the area. Make sure you use enough product to wet the entire area.
4. Allow bacteria to sit for 5-10 minutes.
5. Extract or absorb as much of the bacteria product as possible…and allow to air dry.  Helpful Hint: Cover area with a clean, dry towel and place a weight on top of the towel.  The liquid will wick into the towel as it dries, instead of stopping at the top of your carpet fibers.
6. Once dried, vacuum and inspect treated area. Odor should be gone. If not, repeat procedure.

NOTE: For older urine stains and odors, follow steps 2-6.
